New Year, New season.
It’s January and it’s a slow time of the year for a lot of retailers, but for vendors in the wedding and prom industries, including us, we are beginning our most exciting time of the year.
We start seeing newly engaged couples walk into our store thinking of wedding outfit ideas for the groom and groomsmen, in which we offer suggestions on what to wear, and offer general advice of wedding planning as I went through the wedding planning phase a few years ago.
Couples have a myriad of choices as they start their wedding planning journey with various bridal shows, online shopping, social channels, etc... Typically, the guy’s outfits are one of the last things to get picked out, after the limousine, candy bar, and photo booths.
Rest assured there are lots of options, from informal to formal. Top Hat Formals can offer help if you want to rent vests and ties, suits, or tuxedos. Our accessory partners can match vest, tie, and suspender colors to match from David’s Bridal and other bridal vendors.
Generally smaller vendors such as Top Hat Formals offer more options than the national chains and it will be less expensive too. Also, if you want your groomsmen to own their own suits, we have options to help them all out too, and we offer wedding programs for both.
We can even help with logistical matters, either for out of town groomsmen getting measured, or for destination weddings out of town, we now offer measurement and shipping services. Find out how we can help.
Another reason we start to get traffic in our store in January is also the time when we start seeing young ladies start to look around for their perfect Prom Dress. Our new prom dress inventory arrives this month with vendors such as Jovani, Alyce, Clarisse, Karishma Creations, and other vendors. And as in previous years, we register our sold dresses, so we will not sell the same dress twice to 2 different girls at the same school at some of the dresses arriving this month.
As in previous years, fit and flare style dresses are still popular, and so far, this year we see a lot of interest in V-neck tops and halter tops with a line silhouettes, but we see stylistic changes every year. This year is no different.
As for fun styles for the young men going to prom, well, we won’t see most of the guys until about 4 weeks before the prom, but here are some fun jackets we are bringing in just for the season.
The mall where Top Hat Formals is located at, the Galleria at the Pittsburgh Mills, might be somewhat desolate, but we are excited to ramp up for another fun prom and wedding season for 2019. Hopefully we see you in our store.
